The challenger is a nice, compact candy crane arcade game. I say this is an arcade game because it has all the functions of an arcade game. You put in a quarter and you have a goal, to move the crane and grab as much candy as you can. It has a power supply, a quarter acceptor, a joystick, an action button, an onboard computer and flashing lights. This game measure 24 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 69 inches tall. That is the same measurement as Donkey Kong and most Nintendo cabinets.

I've been wanting a candy crane for awhile and the last arcade auction I went to had lots of these. Fortunately, there was a pair of these nicer, smaller units. I only bid on one of these and won it. The auctioneer asked me if I wanted the other one for the same price and I told him no. He asked me if I wanted the other one for half price, and he finally talked me into it. Cheap is good.

So I have a pair of these, but I only need one. I will be selling one of them at a profit and keeping the other one. Something else I noticed is one of them had a revision B board and the other one had a revision G board. I put the revision G board into the cabinet I was keeping. Later revisions means more bullet proof software and hardware.

My little boy recognized this right away. Apparently the grandparents have given him quarters for these types of games before. He knew exactly what to do and what the goal was. It was cool to see his face light up when I filled it up with candy and turn it on for the first time.

This is a perfect addition to the Video Vault Arcade.
