So I've been wanting a cocktail game to round off my collection, and a Dig Dug was always a childhood favorite. I think my favorites were the ones I could
play the longest on 1 quarter, and Dig Dug was one of them. So this Dig Dug was listed for a month or more and never sold. It was missing the top glass, so
I offered the guy $150 less than what he was wanting for it. He bites, I bite, I inherit the game. While unloading the cocktail table out of the minivan I
come face to face with the metal plate that has the Atari serial number. What's this? Serial #19. What the...19! That's pretty cool. When I open up the machine,
all the boards match with serial #19 on them. Awesome! The monitor on this thing had a bit of a squished picture on one side which was fixed by replacing a
capacitor.
The top glass was missing so I purchased a new underlay which looks really nice. I got a piece of top glass custom cut and tempered to match the original. Also, someone
finally reproduced the control panel overlays so I had those replaced also. Anyways, I now have a working Dig Dug...Rock on!
